John "Red" Hamilton was the only Terror Gang member to also become a member of Dillinger's Gang with the likes of Pretty Boy Floyd.

Hamilton was shot in a gun battle that occurred near Hastings, Minnesota on April 23, 1934.  Hamilton was with John Dillinger and Homer Van Meter.  The gunshot wound John Hamilton received to the back would prove to be fatal.  Hamilton dies of this wound on April 27, 1934 and was buried in a gravel pit near Oswego, Illinois.
