Simeon "Sim" Reno was born August 2, 1843 in Rockford, Jackson County, Indiana.  Frank's parents were Wilkison Reno and Julia Freyhafer.

Simeon was a member of the Reno Gang.

Sim defrauded the government by falsely enlisting within the Union Army twice.  The first enlistment shows that Sim enrolled into the 79th Regiment at Columbus, Indiana on March 22, 1865.  Sim was mustered out at Indianapolis on May 19, 1865.  On March 28, 1865, Sim enrolled as a private in Company H, 13th Regiment and was mustered the same day from Columbus, Indiana.  Sim's records indicate that he deserted on May 12, 1865.

Sim was lynched by members of the Southern Indiana Vigilance Committee on December 12, 1868 inside of the New Albany, Indiana jail.

Sim is buried at the Seymour Indiana Cemetary.
